Migration Crossing
Andrew Legacy Safari Ltd logo

A migration safari itinerary in Tanzania is carefully designed to follow the movements of the Great Migration, one of the world’s most extraordinary wildlife spectacles, as more than two million wildebeest, accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, journey across the vast plains of the Serengeti National Park in search of fresh grazing. Because the migration follows a seasonal cycle, itineraries are tailored to maximize wildlife viewing opportunities, from the calving season in the southern Serengeti between January and March, to the dramatic Grumeti River crossings in the western corridor during May and June, and the iconic Mara River crossings in the northern Serengeti between July and October. Throughout the journey, travelers enjoy expertly guided game drives that offer exceptional opportunities to witness predator-prey interactions, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, crocodiles, and hyenas following the migrating herds. Carefully selected luxury lodges and mobile tented camps are strategically positioned close to the migration route, allowing guests to experience the action while enjoying outstanding comfort, personalized service, and breathtaking views. A migration safari itinerary delivers an immersive wildlife experience that combines dramatic natural events, remarkable biodiversity, and unforgettable photographic opportunities, making it one of the most sought-after safari adventures in Africa.
